My current Operating System of choice and of most time spent in is Linux. My current distro is Slackware 8.0. I am also running FreeBSD on one of my slower/older systems.

The way I see it is this - Linux is for development, Windows is for gaming, and FreeBSD is for networking. This doesn't mean that you can't develop in Windows or you can't game or network in Linux. But this is my opinion. I use Linux because its more stable, more customizable, and its free!

If you are interested in trying Linux, I suggest starting off with Mandrake Linux or RedHat, as those are the two easiest distros to setup and use, at least from my experience.

Ah yes, as for programming, see the programming section... Anyhow, for now, here are some screenshots of my desktop taken at various times.

January 6, 2001 - this is a shot of my desktop running Blackbox. PNG format might show up a little messed up on Netscape browsers....
